FAQs

What medium do you paint in?

I primarily paint using acrylics however some works may contain a variety of mediums. I love experimenting with new products and techniques, often incorporating oil sticks and other mixed media.

Do you sign your paintings?

All paintings are signed and dated by me on the back of the canvas. Due to the nature of the abstract pieces I create, various orientations are possible when hanging, so I generally do not sign the front. If you would like your artwork signed on the front, please contact me after purchasing. Your painting will also arrive accompanied by its own signed, dated Certificate of Authenticity.

Will my painting be ready to hang?

Yes! Your framed artwork has either a wire or 2 D-brackets (depending on the frame or canvas size and style), ready to hang directly on your wall.

How can I contact you?

You can reach me anytime via our contact page or email me at studio@candacemulligan.com. I aim to respond quickly—usually within two business days.

How can I commission a painting?

I offer a limited number of commissioned paintings each year. Contact me if you would like to discuss this option, in which we will create a piece that reflects my style while being tailored to your space preferences.

How should I clean my painting?

Your painting needs care. To clean, very lightly dust the painted surface with a soft DRY brush, or preferably a picture cleaning ‘air blower’. Do not use cleaning products, water or any moisture on the surface of your painting as this may cause damage.

How do I hang my painting?

For general hanging placement, measure 57-60” from the floor to the midpoint of your painting (this can be calculated by dividing the frame height by 2 and adding 60”). Once placement is determined, make two small marks corresponding to the d-rings on the back of the frame and use nails or monkey hooks to secure it to the wall.

What if my painting looks different from the online image?

Paintings shown on my website are photographs of original artwork. Due to the nature of photographs and the display of images on a computer screen, images shown may not appear exactly the same as the painting.
Although every effort has been made to display the closest representation, the colours, definition and texture of the original artwork may differ from the image shown. Unfortunately, I cannot guarantee the image and physical product will appear exactly the same.
